BYCS is currently delivering a programme called Brighter Futures as one of the delivery partners of a consortia led by
Business 2 Business.

This programme started on 2nd January 2018 and will end on 30th June 2020.

Brighter Futures is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery, through the Big Lottery Fund.

Brigher Futures – Client’s Engagement

Brigher Futures IAG session with the client

Brighter Futures is an innovative community-led employment service that will enable our clients to take crucial steps, with the right support, towards holistic social inclusion. As a result, clients will have improved health and wellbeing, financial and personal resilience, skills, and future prospects. Most will move into work, education or active jobsearch.

Brighter Futures is needed to activate and harness the skills and potential of residents across the city and county.

Brighter Futures is in line with local strategic priorities, focussing on meeting the needs of vulnerable individuals in the 20% most deprived neighbourhoods who have not benefited from improving labour market conditions.

Brighter Futures will be adding additional services and the missing stepping stones leading to mainstream skills and employment support; the missing supplementary support to help people with multiple, profound and complex needs to succeed; and as the missing alternative for people who are ineligible for mainstream provision. Brighter Futures’ Community Coaches will have the time to spend with each client who experiences significant and complex challenges.

Brighter Futures is a community-based project run by local organisations throughout Leicester and Leicestershire.

As part of the Brighter Futures Programme, BYCS is offering the following to its clients:

  • Initial Assessment to identity client’s needs
  • Advice and Guidance for personal development identified by initial assessment
  • Information on local job market and opportunities
  • CV Building
  • 1-2-1 Job search skills
  • Job club
  • Confidence building
  • Interview skills
  • Functional skills - English, Maths and ICT

This programme is open to all city and county residents who are currently unemployed or economically inactive and are of working age with the right to work in the UK.
